Having lived in this home 20+ years in Teaneck, NJ the children in the family are leaving the nest, Mom & Dad decided before the kids return its time for a change.
The wish list included a larger kitchen for gathering and an open floor plan but to make it look like it was the kitchen the house was built with. We had done a similar project in Bogota NJ so I coordinated a field trip so the homeowners could get to see first hand how we might transform their Teaneck, NJ home.
While ready for a change after all that time removing the walls seemedm drastic, yet after some time in our lifesize virtual design studio where they had a chance to see their newly deisgned kitchen and take a virtual tour they began to embrace the concept. A dream had emerged and now our design buld process walked them through every step of the way, making selections at the granite yard, tile store, etc. With the walls removed we made way for a center island both fuintional for the cook as well as a gathering place for freinds and family. We opened the brick exterior and created a path to the backyard with tthe french doors now leading onto the deck.
After 20+ years the home had become a house - We gave them back their HOME !
