This space was part of a larger first-floor remodel designed to retain the character of the home while refreshing its functionality and style. One of the key elements the clients wished to preserve was the original wood-burning stove. The KraftMaster team reimagined the surrounding area to give it new life while maintaining its warm, nostalgic charm.

The transformation centered around enhancing the stove’s presence with a modern yet subtle backdrop. The wall behind the stove was updated with dimensional, sculpted white tile that introduces texture and visual depth without overpowering the room. The hearth area was also redone using sleek black porcelain tile laid in a bold herringbone pattern, bordered with clean-cut slabs for a crisp contrast against the warm hardwood flooring. This framing both anchors the stove visually and meets modern code requirements in a seamless design.

The rest of the room was unified through updated finishes and a more open layout that embraces natural light. Neutral walls and a refined ceiling fan fixture enhance the modern styling, while thoughtful details—such as the circular dining area, updated light fixture, and curated photo wall—make the space feel complete and cohesive. It’s a perfect blend of rustic tradition and contemporary elegance.
